New technology makes debut at Chester Fritz Library
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--The future of libraries and museums is here.
On Wednesday, the Chest Fritz Library will debut its "Magic Box".
It can play videos, show pictures, documents, maps, and hold fragile items.
The box cost about $35,000 which was paid for entirely by various grants and is one of only a handful that exist in the US.
The hope is that this is an opportunity to share with more people the cool stuff that they have in special collections.
"Anything that we can do to get people interested in history is just wonderful. That's what it is that we want to do," said Curt Hanson, Head of Special Collections Department.
The free reception for the exhibit will take place on Wednesday on the second floor of the Chester Fritz Library.
