President Kennedy apologizes for any rifts
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--Fully committed to UND. That's the phrase from President Mark Kennedy tonight after being turned down for a job at another university.
Matt talked with President Kennedy today. He joins with the message he has for the campus community.,
After spending most of last week trying to sell himself to be the next president at the University of Central Florida - only to be turned down - President Kennedy is back on the road today - for UND.
This after some students and faculty say they no longer have his support.
He's in DC for the next few days. His plans include meeting with high ranking air force officials about partnerships with UND - along with visiting students and an alumni event.
Kennedy continues to point out - he was recruited for the job at UCF - and that he is not looking to leave Grand Forks.
With that process over - Kennedy says he remains focused on his long term strategic plan for UND - and that requires 24/7 attention from him.
Between FLorida and Washington - Kennedy spent the weekend here at home cheering on the Hawks at the Ralph.
He says many approached him at the game saying they have his support - despite the possibility of leaving after less than 2 years on the job.
