School board president barely win reelection
The grand forks school board race was hotly contested.
Nine people were seeking 5 open seats on the school board.
Unlike the sheriff's race - this election is final. These people are now on the board:
- Bill Palmiscno, The executive director of the Grand Forks Park District
- Chris Douthit
- Jaqueline Hoffarth, a UND professor
- Shannon Mikula
- and the only incumbent who was running, School Board President Doug Carpenter
The board has a huge job ahead, including deciding whether or not elementary schools are consolidated and finalizing teacher contract negotiations.
School Board members make $3,500 a year.
