Cashing in on cabin fever

Local retailers say sales are going up as temperatures go down.
Despite most of the city being at a standstill today, Mode Outlet owner Kay Derry says with so many snow days, people are tired of staying inside.
That means they're shopping, instead.
Kay Derry, Mode Outlet Store Owner: “It’s just been too long. Now it's just been too long and I think now is the time to get back to school and back to reality. I think today will be a good day to get out and about, and do something besides hunkering down.”
Unlike county offices and other organizations, most shops in our area stayed open throughout the day.
