Reel Fun Days kicked off Friday in Devils Lake

Two summer-time traditions in Devils Lake have now been combined into one weekend-long celebration.

"Reel Fun Days" were kicked off Friday in Devils Lake.

The festival coincides with the 38th annual Devils Lake Chamber Walleye Tournament.

Street vendors, music and games filled downtown Devils Lake streets.

The chamber used to hold a similar event called "crazy days" during July.

It hopes combining the two events will hopefully bring more people to town.

Paula Vistad with the Devils Lake Chamber Of Commerce said, "We thought this could be a way we could bring in and draw people, their families, fishermen maybe bringing their wives and other family members and retailers can draw from that."

Festivities continue Friday night with a street dance in downtown.

The fishing tournament, along with events in town continue through Saturday afternoon.
