Money Raised from Sacred Heart 5K color run in East Grand Forks Saturday morning to go to funding athletic programs
East Grand Forks, MN (WDAY/WDAZ News) - Colorful for a cause.
More than 200 runners participated in the Sacred Heart 5K color run in East Grand Forks Saturday morning.
Money from the event will go towards funding athletic programs for students from kindergarten all the way through high school.
The Sacred Hearth athletic club says this is the first time they've had the "bright idea" to hold an event like this.
"We try to fundraise all the money that pays for our athletic program. This is the first time we've ever done this, we're trying to find just fun ways to fundraise and create revenue for our club. So this is the first time trying it and so far it's been a very good success for us," said Wayne Pietruszewski, President of Sacred Heart Athletic Club.
Organizers expect the run will raise around $5,000 for Sacred Heart Athletics.
