Local shoe store kicks off final sale
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)—A locally owned shoe store kicked off its final sale.
Going out with a bang! Jack’s shoe store has been in business in Grand Forks for over 20 years. The owner, Glenna Leedahl, is retiring along with the store, but first, she’s throwing one final sale.
Despite the snowy streets, Glenna says the store has been packed with customers who drove in to buy some shoes, and say goodbye to the store.
“The sale’s going just tremendously today. I’m amazed that the people came out in this weather, and even drove in from quite a distance. It’s been far better than I had ever expected,” said owner of Jack’s Shoes, Glenna Leedahl.
Leedahl says that the building has been bustling with customers.
“Earlier we were elbow-to-elbow with people. You could hardly walk through the aisles, and it looks like it’s going to continue to do that throughout the afternoon,” said Leedahl.
Leedahl says she’s grateful for the loyal customers who have purchased from her over the years, and those who drove in today as the store held its final sale.
“It’s such a wonderful experience, and my good old loyal customers came through for me, and it was good to see them again,” said Leedahl.
“I just want to thank all my wonderful customers, and I hope that they continue to support the local community,” said Leedahl.
Leedahl also credits the success of the store—and the sale—to her employees.
“I’ve had a tremendous group of women that I’ve been working with throughout the sale, and if it weren’t for them, it wouldn’t have gotten to this point—it was wonderful.”
The sale will go until all of the shoes have been sold.
