GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--The Grand Forks Optimist Club held a bowling tournament fundraiser at Red Ray Lanes to benefit Safe Kids Grand Forks.

Ninety-six bowlers participated, and over one-hundred-fifty people attended the event.

Local businesses sponsored lanes and competed against each other.

There was even a friend competition between UNDPD and the Sheriff's Office.

All the money raised goes toward the Safe Kids Program and their injury prevention efforts.

Carma Hanson, Safe Kids Grand Forks, "It has been so much fun to  go up and down the lanes and thank people for coming and just see really how many people are passionate about the work that Safe Kids does and finding ways that they can help and be a little part of helping to keep kids safe.”

Safe Kids just recently moved into the Altru Clinic in East Grand Forks but are hoping to build their own location in the future.
