How you can help Carson Wentz earn the 2017 'FedEx Air Player of the Year' award
A season-ending knee injury may have costed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz the MVP award, but a tweet from you could earn him another honor.
Wentz, along with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, have been selected as three finalists for this year's FedEx Air and Ground NFL Players of the Year.
Despite missing the final three games of the season, Wentz led the entire NFL in touchdown passes with 33. Brady finished a close second with 32 touchdown passes and led the NFL in passing yards with 4,577. Smith finished the season with 27 touchdown passes and a league-low five interceptions. Smith also led all qualified quarterback's in QB rating with 104.7.
Wentz won the FedEx Air Player of the Week award twice during the regular season in Weeks 5 and 6. Smith won the weekly award in Weeks 1 and 13 and Brady won the award once in Week 3.
The winner of this year's award will be announced the day before the Super Bowl. When the winner is announced, FedEx will be donating $50,000 to the USO in the winner's name through FedEx Cares.
