UND Football adds eight recruits on signing day
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--Many dreams across the nation became a reality on Wednesday.
Across the United States it was National Signing Day, and UND was busy as well.
UND added 8 more players to his 2018 recruiting class to the 22 players that had already joined his squad back in December.
Two of the eight that were added today, are athletes that play on teams in the WDAZ viewing area.
Cade Salentine from Crookston and Zack Murphy from Grand Forks Central.
The recruiting class totals 30 players and when asked what the identity of this class is, this was Head Coach Bubba Schweigert's response.
“We signed a bunch because we really need to improve the depth but we really feel like we have a bunch of tough guys, really hard nosed and we need to get to get to that point as we you know improve our football team. We just felt that we needed to take that step forward and get back to more of that hard nosed defensive mentality after not being where we wanted to be in 2017,” said Schweigert.
Coming up in sports, hear from several of the local commits who will be playing at the next level.
