Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-It wasn't the 4th of July, but police in the F-M area were kept busy responding to firework complaints. The dispatch log shows police responded to about 16 firework related calls overnight Thursday into Friday. The majority were in Fargo, where they aren't legal and whose fire officials say they're dangerous to use or even own. There's no denying fireworks can be a lot of fun.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV)-With four people dying in the last week, Minnesota fire deaths are the highest they've been since 2011. 52 people have died in the state compared to 43 at this time last year. The most recent was an 82-year-old man in Minneapolis on Thursday. Moorhead Fire Chief Rich Duysen says as fire deaths have declined over the last 30 years, some people have become complacent.
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV)-The new Oak St. Levee completed this year in north Fargo isn't just for holding back floodwaters... Families enjoyed the metro's newest sledding hill at 901 Oak St. N, in Mickelson Park Saturday. The hill has a new warming house for sled rentals and concessions. You can bring your own sled or check one out for free with either a picture ID or a $20 deposit. Kids say it's a great way to enjoy the snow.
Fargo (WDAY/WDAZ TV) - Local artists helped out Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity by creating recycled art. The "Home is where the Art is" silent auction on Saturday featured 40 donated pieces. Each included at least one material, like nails, doorknobs, and hinges from Habitat ReStore, the organization's thrift store. Organizers say it's a unique way for local artists to give back.
Fargo, ND (WDAY/WDAZ TV) - A local artist is celebrating three decades of professional painting. Ellen Jean Diederich of Fargo is an MSUM graduate who started painting professionally 30 years ago. She held an open house at her south Fargo studio to celebrate her work and how her style has grown. Her work includes watercolor and acrylic paintings, focusing mostly on local flowers, landscapes, and domestic animals. She says it's nice to share her work, and to step back and look at it herself.
Enderlin, ND (WDAY/WDAZ TV) - Friends of an Enderlin Vietnam Veteran who has been told he can't stay in his new home until it's fixed up are asking for your help. They've created a gofundme page for Don Palmier, who found a note from the city condemning his home three days after moving in earlier this month. He's already spent $5000 on repairs but the city wants quite a few more, including work on the roof and siding.
