Adam Ladwig joined WDAZ as the Devils Lake bureau reporter in January, 2012. Prior to that he reported for KDUH-TV in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Adam has won multiple awards during his time at WDAZ, including an Eric Sevareid award and a Regional Emmy Award as part of team coverage during the search for Anthony Kuznia. A Colorado native, Adam graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Journalism. He misses the Rocky Mountains, but the kind people of North Dakota more than make up for that. He is thrilled to be in the Lake Region, telling stories that matter. In his spare time, Adam is usually futilely attempting to get in shape, or cheering for his beloved Denver Broncos.

More than 75 percent of North Dakota tax returns are filed electronically and now the state is offering up some virtual tips to help make taxes even less taxing. MINNEWAUKAN, ND (WDAZ-TV) - Residents of one Lake Region community no longer have to leave town to get gas and groceries. For seven months, people in Minnewaukan had to travel 20 miles to get a loaf of bread. But now they're saying a new grocery store is bringing food, jobs and life back to their hometown. People have not only been getting groceries at Spirit Water Gas and Grocery, they've been giving thanks. DEVILS LAKE (WDAZ-TV) - Ramsey County Commissioners formed two committees today to divide up more than $6 million in state aid expected to come soon. The funds come from a State Senate bill passed during last year's special session. The smaller fund is for individual assistance.

DEVILS LAKE (WDAZ-TV) - Warm weather has cooled the plans for ice fishermen in the Lake Region. But, they say the warm temperatures definitely have an upside. Ice levels are so thin on Devils Lake, you can still see the water in some places. "With the mild temperature we've been having, we are a little behind where we're normally at with ice thickness," Randy Hiltner, with North Dakota Game and Fish, said. Hiltner, a fisheries expert, says ice that has formed is here to stay, even in the face of record high temperatures last week. "It's kind of holding its own now.
GRAND FORKS (WDAZ-TV)- Gas prices continue to climb after dropping under $3 a gallon. Several Grand Forks stations are selling gas for nearly $3.20 a gallon. That's a 10 cent per gallon jump from a week ago. But drivers are still paying less at the pump than a month ago, when gas in Grand Forks averaged $3.32 a gallon according the AAA. The national average price for regular unleaded gas is $3.29 a gallon.
