GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--The Bureau of Criminal Investigations has taken over an investigation at the Grand Forks County Jail after an attempted suicide by an inmate. On Tuesday night, law enforcement tonight refused to go on camera. Lt. BJ Maxson told WDAZ they were instructed by David Jones, the State’s Attorney, to not reveal anything on this investigation.
DEVILS LAKE, ND (WDAZ)--The Devils Lake police station has been turned into a homeless shelter. So far this winter, 5 people been brought to the lobby with no other place to go...causing concern for the staff and public. One of them was found passed out in the bathroom after shooting up. The solution, for now? Rather than getting them out; is spending thousands to supervise them.

In the past year - the library has spent 168-thousand dollars doing major work to this building. A new roof - front entrance and heating system.
GRAND FORKS, ND (WDAZ)--Cutting back on treating the roads to save money. That's the plan for North Dakota Department of Transportation. For years, salt and sand have been two main components to clear the roads but now the department is saying that more of one might be better than the other. “It's been warm, it's been cold, and when it gets warm, it gets icy,” said Driver, William Peters.
