FARGO – The North Dakota Department of Transportation will have an online survey available until 5 p.m. May 31. The NDDOT is seeking feedback from traveling motorists on snow and ice control service levels during winter weather and storm events.
FARGO—Fargo Davies shut out Fargo North 3-0 Saturday in Eastern Dakota Conference girls soccer. Anna Davison netted two goals to lead Davies, while Megan Barnick recorded a goal and two assists. Breanna Nelson tallied three saves for Davies and Alexis Jemtrud had a save for North. The Eagles rose to 6-0-2 overall, while the Spartans fell to 5-2-1 overall.
WILLISTON, N.D. — A 29-year-old Tioga, N.D., woman was killed Friday morning, May 18, when her vehicle ran into a disabled semi along U.S. Highway 2. The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the crash happened just after 5 a.m. Friday on Highway 2 about 10 miles northeast of Williston.
FARGO—North Dakota State's softball team will be heading to Tucson, Arizona to play in its ninth NCAA Tournament. The Bison, fresh off a fifth straight Summit League tournament championship, found out Sunday night it will play Mississippi State at 8 p.m. Friday in the Tucson Regional—the same place they played in the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
Bison women win final relay to claim share of Summit track title TULSA, Okla.—It came down to the homestretch of the final event, but the streak lived on. The North Dakota State women's track & field team pulled out a win in the 1600-meter relay to share the conference team championship with South Dakota on Saturday afternoon at the Summit League Outdoor Championships. Over the three-day, 21-event meet, both the Bison and Coyotes scored exactly 263 points to tie for the team title.
FARGO—Cal Hernandez had four hits to lead Oral Roberts to a 9-3 victory against North Dakota State on Saturday in Summit League baseball at Newman Outdoor Field. Hernandez doubled, tripled and scored three runs, finishing 4-for-4 at the plate. Nick Roark and Harrison Smith each homered to help spark Oral Roberts (29-15, 18-5 SL) to its eighth consecutive victory.
FARGO—Jacquelyn Sertic and KK Leddy threw back-to-back shutouts to lead North Dakota State to a doubleheader sweep against Western Illinois on Saturday in Summit League softball at the Ellig Sports Complex. The Bison earned 3-0 victories in both games before 260 fans. The Bison (29-17, 9-3 SL) moved into first place in the conference standings as head coach Darren Mueller earned career win No. 600.
NEBRASKA CITY, Neb.—North Dakota State's women's golf team fired an opening-round 3-over par 291 and sits atop the leaderboard after the first day of The Summit League Championship Sunday at ArborLinks Golf Club. NDSU's score of 291 is its second-lowest 18-hole round score of the season. The Bison have a 10-stroke lead over second-place Denver, which tallied an 18-hole 13-over par 301. Western Illinois rounds out the top-three in third at 18-over par 306.
OMAHA, Neb.—Fargo's fast start Sunday night ended with a flurry of three Omaha goals in less than nine minutes as the Lancers defeated the Force 6-3 in Game 2 of their United States Hockey League Western Conference semifinal series. Omaha's victory before a Ralston Arena crowd of 3,014 evened the best-of-five series at 1-1 as the series heads to Fargo for Games 3 and 4 Tuesday and Wednesday at Scheels Arena. If necessary, a decisive Game 5 would be played at Ralston Arena Friday at 7:05 p.m.
OMAHA, Neb.—Western Illinois posted a 4-0 shutout win over the North Dakota State Sunday in Summit League baseball action. Sophomore Tucker Rohde tallied NDSU's only hit of the game—a single to right field. Redshirt sophomore Mitch O'Connor suffered the loss after giving up three earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk in 2 ⅓ innings. NDSU is now 14-18 overall and 7-9 in the Summit. Western Illinois improved to 9-22 overall and 7-7 in the Summit.
