FARGO-- Fargo Fire Department responded to a call of an apartment fire at 3320 17th Ave S in Fargo at 6:54 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived at the apartment they saw residents standing outside the building. Fire crews entered the building and found smoke in the second floor hallway. Then discovered heavy smoke and heat inside a second floor apartment unit.
BECKER COUNTY—Three people have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Becker County. Misty J Bellecourt, 29 of Waubun, MN, Vincent J Hawks, 28 of Waubun and Joshua J. Potter, 28 of White Earth, are being held with charges pending. According to a Becker County Deputy, a short chase ensued around 2:45 p.m. Thursday after trying to stop a vehicle the suspects were in, however the suspects were soon apprehended. The Chevrolet Silverado truck the suspects were driving is said to be the vehicle used in a Mahnomen County burglary.
MINNESOTA—If you had any alcoholic drinks during your Thanksgiving celebration law enforcement is warning to get a sober ride. Wednesday night, 137 people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in Minnesota. That compares with the average 47 for a Wednesday night. Minnesota State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies are stepping up patrols for the holiday.
WADENA—A jury trial has been set for a Minnesota man accused of killing his wife. 26-year-old Antonio St.Marie faces nine criminal counts including premeditated murder. He'll go to trial January 8th. St. Marie is accused of shooting his estranged wife, Margaret one year ago in Wadena. He was then involved in a crash with another vehicle during a police chase just outside of town on Highway 29. Jury selection is expected to take one week. Two weeks have been blocked off for this trial.
Kathio Township, MN-- A man was hurt after he crashed his Chevrolet Silverado at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday. 42-year-old Jerry Steffensen of Zimmerman was traveling north on Highway 169 when he lost control of the vehicle near mile post 219, rolled into a ditch, and struck a tree. According to the police report, road conditions were wet at the time of the crash and alcohol was involved. Steffensen was taken to the Mille Lacs Health System Hospital to be treated for non-life threating injuries.
FARGO -- Police responded to a call around 6:30 a.m. this morning for another report of vandalism. Windows were busted on a car parked in a driveway on Countryside Trailer Ct. Officers are unsure if this incident is related to other reports of damage in the area. Police are still investigating.
GRAND FORKS-- Grand Forks Fire Department were sent to an apartment fire at 2201 13th Ave North in Grand Forks at just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The resident called 911 to report an oven fire. Other residents were evacuated from the building and no one was hurt. Crews arrived on the scene and found moderate smoke and smoldering coming form a main level apartment unit. The fire department used water to put out the flames and vents to clear the smoke from the area.
FARGO-- Fargo police responded to a call for a house that was vandelized at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. According to police a caller reported seeing two suspicious people near a home in the 400 block of 7th Street S. A home in the area was found with a window shot out with a BB gun. The witness says that the two people were white men and took off in a car. Police are unsure if the incident is releated to the car vandalisms, but at this time they do not believe so. The investigation is on going.
MOORHEAD, MINNESOTA-- Police are investigating after receiving a call of car vandalism at just after midnight on Wednesday in Moorhead. Five different cars were found parked at the 400 block of Brook Ave with their windows shot out by a BB gun according to Moorhead police. Later another car with its windows shot out was found on 24th Ave S near the Family Fare. There are no suspects at this time. If you have any information, contact police.
Lidgerwood, ND-- Richland County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a rollover crash at 10:28 p.m. on Tuesday four miles east of Lidgerwood on County Road 20. The driver was a juvenile male who was driving a Chevrolet Suburban and swerved to avoid hitting a deer, which caused the vehicle to roll. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a Fargo Hospital and treated for non-life threating injuries. The driver was not hurt in the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
